This summer flew by, didn’t it? Even though the season has seemingly slipped away in the blink of an eye, we can still have one last hurrah before it starts to shift. If you’re hosting one last summer soiree, you have to serve cocktails with an added kick! Here are a few suggestions to sip on to send the season off in style:
End of Summer Sangria by Andrea Correale
2 bottles dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc is good)
1 cup triple sec
1/2 cup berry-flavored vodka
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 cup simple syrup
1 cup blueberries
1 1/2 cups hulled and sliced strawberries
1 cup raspberries
1 1/2 cups pineapple chunks (use star shaped cookie cutter to cut out patriotic star shapes)
Combine all ingredients in a large punch bowl or pitcher and stir well. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours. Serve well-chilled with a good scoop of fruit floating in each drink, or serve over ice.
Sunset Strawberry Lemonade
2 parts Skinnygirl Bare Naked Vodka
2 large muddled strawberries
1 part powdered lemonade mix
Splash of club soda
Muddle Strawberries in a highball glass and add ice. Build ingredients over ice and top with club soda.
2 oz. SKYY Vodka
1 oz. Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
1Ž2 oz. Ginger solution (1 ginger: 1 water: 1 sugar)
1Ž2 oz. Peach Liquor
Blend and double strain Shake all ingredients (except soda), strain over ice and top with soda. Garnish with mint and peach slices.
2 oz. Barrymore Wine
3/4 oz. Lemon Juice
1/2 oz. Agave
Top with Ginger Beer
In a shaker, muddle raspberries than add Barrymore Pinot Grigio, Lemon Juice, Agave and ice. Shake vigorously. Double strain into a collins glass and top with Ginger Beer. Garnish with a lemon wheel.
1 oz. Pinnacle Peach Vodka
1 oz. Jim Beam Bourbon
4 oz. Cola
Mix in a glass filled with ice and garnish with peach wedge.
Passion Fruit Margarita
1 ½ oz. Sauza Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
1/2 oz. orange liqueur
2 oz. Passion Fruit Jam
2 oz. Club Soda
1/2 oz. Agave
1 oz. lime juice
Cilantro to garnish
Chili-Salt to rim glass
Method: In a shaker filled with ice combine all ingredients and shake vigorously. Strain into a glass filled with ice and prepared with a chili-salt rim. Garnish with a sprig of Cilantro and a lime wheel.
1 ¼ oz. Basil Hayden’s Bourbon
1 oz. Coconut Water
1 oz. Pink Lemonade
1 oz. Ginger Ale
Add Basil Hayden’s Bourbon to a highball glass and fill with ice. Add remaining ingredients and stir well. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
Sweet & Spicy Margarita
1 oz. JDK & Sons Crave Chocolate Chili Liqueur
2 oz. Sauza Blue Reposado Tequila
2 oz. Fresh Lemon Sour
1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass over ice and shake. Strain into a margarita glass with ice.
1 ½ oz. ZING Vodka
5 Cucumber Chunks (approx. 1 oz. juice)
1 Basil Leaf
Splash Lime Juice
Muddle cucumber and basil. Add ingredients and shake served up. Garnish with a cucumber slice.
2 oz. Belvedere Lemon Tea
2 oz. Coconut Water
2oz Cloudy Apple Juice
Build over cubed ice and garnish with an apple fan.
