100 Years and Counting: Happy Centennial Nivea!

When a beauty brand turns 100 years old, attention must be paid.

To fête Nivea’s centennial anniversary, Beiersdorf (their Hamburg, Germany-based parent company) kicked off a new “100 Years Skincare for Life” campaign with a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that was truly not to be missed, by chartering a luxury party-yacht dubbed the Nivea Blue Boat to sail down The Elbe river in Hamburg.

Onboard were scores of consumers and media (Glam.com included) from around the world, where we were treated to decadent spa treatments, detailed skin analysis sessions with Nivea scientists, and an intimate surprise concert by their new international spokesperson, Rihanna!

“Over the past 100 years, Nivea has been an iconic skincare brand across the world that is built on the trust of our consumers,” says Nivea board member Markus Pinger. “We are excited to have Rihanna supporting us in our celebration and building a new generation of fans.”

The flamed-haired chanteuse sang some of her #1 hits, like Disturbia, Umbrella, Only Girl in The World, and her newest single, California King Bed, which actually will serve as the theme song for Nivea’s 100 Years Skincare for Life campaign commercials, which you can see below.
