2 Mom-Friendly Martinis to Toast to the Royal Baby

He’s finally here! After 13 hours of labor, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton gave birth to the third in line to the throne. Since the 103 cannons were fired at the Tower of London, it’s time to celebrate with a cocktail or two. Get a taste of these mom-friendly martinis you can shake up on this side of the pond to raise glass to the happy news!

Mom’tini

1 1?2 oz. EFFEN® Vodka
3?4 oz. Pineapple Juice
1?2 oz. Agave Nectar
1?2 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
1 slice Fresh Jalapeño
1 cube Fresh Pineapple

Method: In a mixing glass, muddle jalapeño, pineapple, agave nectar and pineapple and lime juices. Add vodka and shake with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a sprig of fresh thyme.

Haute Mama

1 1?2 oz. EFFEN® Vodka
1 oz. Home-Made Pineapple/Honey Syrup*
3?4 oz. Pineapple Juice
1?2 oz. Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
1 slice of Fresh Jalapeño
1?4 oz. Mezcal

Method: Rinse a chilled cocktail glass with mezcal. Shake out excess liquid. In a mixing glass, muddle jalapeño, pineapple/honey syrup and pineapple and lime juices. Add vodka and shake with ice. Strain into the prepared cocktail glass. Garnish with a sprig of fresh thyme.

* Home-Made Pineapple/Honey Syrup
2 cups Honey
1 cup Hot Water
2 cups Fresh Pineapple – cubed
30 crushed Pink Peppercorns (available at gourmet grocery stores)

Method: In a large container, combine all ingredients and stir until honey has completely dissolved. Let cool overnight. Store in an airtight container and use as needed.
