Katy Perry opened the 2013 American Music Awards with a burst of color and aerialists, but before the confetti flew, she dazzled on the red carpet in a dotted Oscar de La Renta gown from his spring 2014 collection. She complemented the look with a fresh face, red lip, and matching mani, courtesy of Jake Bailey and Kimmie Kyees.
Inspired by the dress, Bailey channeled “classic Katy” by first evening her tone with CoverGirl’s Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation. He then turned to the eyes, lining the eyes with the Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Black Fire and then accentuated the crease with the Flamed Out Shadow Pot in Melted Caramel with a few swipes of Bombshell Volume Mascara in Very Black for good measure. Then, he set the foundation with a dusting of CoverGirl + Olay Pressed Powder and flushed her cheek with the Clean Glow Blush in Roses. He polished the look with a red pout, using the brand’s LipPerfection Lipcolor in Hot with a matching lip liner to last throughout the night.
Kyees got dotty with Perry’s sharp points by layering two coats of Sally Hansen’s new Triple Shine Nail Color in Slick Black before using a dotter to apply the brand’s Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in White on. She topped off the look with the Triple Shine Top Coat for an eye-catching finish.
