5 Cocktails to Toast to National Tequila Day

Though many seem to think so, Cinco de Mayo is not National Tequila Day. While the Battle of Pueblo occurred in 1862, the libation has already been in production for over 200 years in and around its hometown, Tequila. Raise a glass to the liquor that, surprisingly, Americans drink twice as much compared to Mexico with one of these delectable drinks. Cheers!

Golden Margarita

9 oz. Sauza Blue Reposado 100% Agave Tequila
3 ½ oz. JDK & Sons O3 Premium Orange Liqueur
18 oz. Sauza Non-Alcoholic Margarita Mix
6 oz. Orange Juice
*Serves 7

Combine the ingredients without ice and shake vigorously. Then just pour the mixture over ice in a 14 parts glass, and garnish with an orange wheel.

Watermelon Martini

1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
4 One-Inch Cubes Fresh Watermelon
Squeeze Agave Nectar

Muddle watermelon with agave nectar in a mixing glass. Add remaining ingredients, and shake vigorously with ice. Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass, and garnish as desired.

Sparkling Tequila Sunrise

4 oz. Orange Mango Sparkling ICE
2 oz. Tequila
1/2 oz. Grenadine
Orange slice for garnish
Maraschino cherry for garnish

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass over ice, stir and serve in a tall glass with ice.

Strawberry Celebration

3 oz. Sauza Original Lime Sparkling Margarita
1 oz. DeKuyper Pucker Strawberry Liqueur
Lime Wheel

Build over ice in a Collins glass and garnish with a lime wheel on the rim.

Avión Lemonade

2 oz. Avión Silver
1 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
1 oz. Simple Syrup
Top with Club Soda

Build ingredients in a Collins glass with ice, and stir. Garnish with a lemon wedge and mint leaf, if desired.
