Forget those bulky plastic headbands from when you were a kid because there is a no class of headbands that are just begging to be worn. Not only do they look cute, headbands are the perfect way to get those pesky flyaways and bangs out of your face. Practical accessories? I can get on board with that. A lot of women keep their distance when it comes to headbands for fear of looking childish, but it is possible to rock this trend in a very adult way.
I’ve made a short list of 5 headbands you should try this season.
For those of you that are fortunate to have a full head of hair, the braided headbands are the way to go. If you don’t have any hair to spare, try for a faux braided headband, just make sure it matches your hair. Another option is the braided fabric headbands that can be worn regularly or across your forehead.
Basic Black Headband
The basic black headband is perfect for those days when you don’t quite feel like doing your hair. Bonus: It’s better for your hair than a hair tie.
Jeweled, Chained, or Detailed
You can skip the jewelry and accessories when you rock one of these headbands. You can pull of the whole boho, princess-hippie look with these jewels adorned like a crown. For an added bonus, you can braid the chains into your hair to ensure they don’t fall out.
Turbans are my go-to. You can add it to a top-knot bun to add a little oomph, or if the humidity is creeping up they will help keep your hair nice and smooth. Such a chic and easy way to tame that mane.
Headscarves and Wraps
The ultimate go-to when you have a bad hair day. I love the versatility of these because you can wrap your whole head in it or fold it up to make it a thin detailed headband. Never underestimate the power of the scarf.
Will you be sporting a headband this summer?
