The official start to awards season is upon us with The Golden Globes. It’s time to kick back with your pals, (best dressed scorecards firmly in hand), and watch Hollywood’s best and brightest win their first gold statuettes of 2014. If you’re hosting the red carpet revelry, be sure to have plenty of popcorn and one of these delectable drinks to sip during the ceremony.
1½ oz. Pinnacle Pomegranate Vodka
4 oz. chilled champagne
Splash of grenadine
Pour champagne into a martini glass and top with vodka and grenadine.
Danger on the Horizon
1 oz. Skinnygirl Cucumber Vodka
1 oz. DeKuyper Pucker® Sour Apple Schnapps
Squeeze of fresh lime
2 oz. seltzer
Lime wedge for garnish
Shake ingredients vigorously in a cocktail shaker. Pour into cocktail glass over ice with a lime wedge for garnish.
2 parts Owl’s Brew The Classic
1 part Whiskey
Combine the tea, whiskey, and apple slices in a saucepan, and heat until you reached your desired temperature. Avoid boiling the cocktail. Pour the mixture into a mug and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
¼ cup unrefined granulated sugar
¼ cup water
20 whole cardamom pods, crushed using the back of a knife or a mortar and pestle
¼ cup pear brandy
1 (750 ml) chilled Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut Champagne
2 small ripe Forelle or Seckel pears, for garnish
For the pear-cardamom syrup:
Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan, stir to dissolve the sugar, add the crushed cardamom pods and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Simmer the simple syrup for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and allow to steep and cool for 20 minutes.
Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the simple syrup, discard the seeds and pods, and place the simple syrup into a liquid measuring cup. Add the pear brandy and stir to combine.
Add the pear-cardamom simple syrup mixture to 6 white wine glasses before adding 4 ounces of chilled Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut Champagne to each glass, filling each glass about halfway. Garnish each glass with three pieces of fanned pear slices and serve.
1 ½ oz. Belvedere Vodka Mango Passion
½ oz. Domaine de Canton
½ oz. fresh lime juice
¾ oz. cranberry juice
Combine all ingredients in a tin and shake with ice. Fine strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with an orange twist.
