A Hollywood Moment: Keeping Cool with Kelly Ripa

By  August 14, 2013

RipaWhen you’re one of New York City’s hottest personalities it’s important that you stay cool. For Kelly Ripa, that task comes easy thanks to her partnership with Electrolux. The pair hit Manhattan earlier this summer to help New Yorkers beat the heat and see how the television mainstay keeps from breaking a sweat. The feat was conquered in the form of a Columbus Circle hub that mimcked the cooling capacity of Electrolux’s French Door Refrigerator and let visitors step into Ripa’s world—literally. Not only was the structure seconds from Ripa’s old 73rd-floor apartment at the Time Warner Center, it also placed us in close proximity to her favorite gym: Central Park.

“I like to go jogging with my husband [Mark Consuelos] on Bridle Path. It’s so gorgeous; you go past the museums. It’s a beautiful 1.7 mile run… it’s heavenly,” she said.

A native Jersey girl with 24 years living within city limits, Ripa gave us a snapshot of her New York: the Italian restaurant that’s as authentic as it gets, her favorite (free!) place to relax, and how shopping her own closet keeps her on trend. Plus, we’ll hear from the Live! with Kelly and Michael host on what she was doing years before being crowned one of media’s most powerful people by The Hollywood Reporter.

As warm as Ripa is, she and Electrolux are offering an even hotter opportunity. Now through August 22, visit LiveLoveLux.com and enter the Perfect Temp Sweepstakes for a chance at a French Door Refrigerator and free trip to the Bahamas. Electrolux will donate $1 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund for each entry, which participants can make once a day.
