Just weeks after the birth of his baby girl, Kanye West is delivering another collaboration. The artist is getting back into fashion–this time he has taken his talents to denim. French brand A.P.C. broke the news Sunday via Twitter by simply posting a date, “July 14th,” and a photo of jeans baring the label A.P.C. Kanye.
To avoid having his celebrity get in the way of his experience, West was introduced to the brand’s creative director Jean Touitou as ‘Kenny.’ “He had nice manners and spoke about losing his mother in a surgery accident and about losing his girlfriend too, and about how difficult doing the right thing in fashion was,” Touitou told Vogue UK.
West has tried his hand at many things in the fashion industry: he designed a collection of sneakers for Louis Vuitton, showed a womenswear line for two seasons at Paris Fashion Week, collaborated with Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, and has made numerous fashion references in his songs. Perhaps “Christian Dior Denim Flow” was a prelude to West’s latest style endeavor.
The capsule menswear collection—jeans, a hooded sweatshirt and a t-shirt—will be available on July 14th at 10am EST on A.P.C.’s website.
