starscoop624Are you ready, America? The popular singing competition, American Idol, is back for Season 14, and the judging panel has been announced! Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. are all set to return, as is the host who has been with the show since the beginning, Ryan Seacrest. No doubt each of these judges and Seacrest will once again bring to Season 14 their own flair and expertise. [Variety]

Queen Elizabeth II in front of the Iron Throne? Game of Thrones may be over, but the fanbase is only growing! On June 24, the Queen visited the set of this wildly popular show and met with several cast members including Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Kit Harington (Jon Snow), and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark).  Though we were a tad disappointed to hear the Queen never actually sat on the Iron Throne, we love how impressed she looks by it! It looks like Lana Del Rey will be singing more sad songs from now on. She has confessed to the German-language Swiss paper 20 Minuten that she and her fiancé Barrie-James O’Neill are no longer together, claiming, “He is a wonderful person. But there are some things he has to deal with.” Perhaps the success of her new album, Ultraviolence, will be some comfort for this sultry songstress. [Us Weekly]

Age ain’t nothing but a number! It has been revealed that the upcoming Aaliyah biopic from Lifetime will feature her controversial relationship with R&B singer R. Kelly. Aaliyah and R. Kelly were allegedly married in 1994 when she was 14 and he was 27, though the marriage was later annulled by Aaliyah’s parents. The movie stars Zendaya as the late singer, but no words on who will play R. Kelly. Probably not R. Kelly. [New York Post]

Augustus Waters fever has not yet died down! The heartthrob of The Fault in Our Stars, Ansel Elgort, is set to play American classical pianist Van Cliburn in a new biopic, which producers Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen of TFIOS fame will be co-producing. It’s basically a TFIOS reunion! Yes please, we are ready for more Ansel! Oh, and the classical music, of course. [Vulture]
