Since exiting Vogue in March, Numero Russia’s international editor at large has kept himself busy. Now Andrè Leon Talley will join Zappos Couture as artistic director for the Amazon-owned site, Zappos Couture.
“The digital universe is a new exciting, opportunity for me to reach a broad audience in terms of the global luxury market, Talley told Women’s Wear Daily, saying that he hopes to “create something unique in terms of a Web magazine within the immediacy and excitement of luxury retail products, season by season.”
This is unique pairing for Zappos Couture, in an effort to raise its luxury profile with the help of Talley’s high-fashion wealth of knowledge. “We’re really looking to become the destination in online luxury shopping. For us, we still have a lot of brands we’re looking to acquire for the site and we hope that with Andrè’s partnership it will help us develop relationships with these brands,” Jennifer Sidary, head of couture at Zappos Couture told WWD.
Talley’s creative duties for the site will include overseeing editorial content of Zappos Couture site, including fashion shoots, videos, and trend picks, all set to debut on January 22nd.
Congrats to ALT! Perhaps he will chronicle his journey on his late night TV show? Yeah, we didn’t forget about that.
