The Hair: Kevin Ryan used Aveda products to create an imperfect almost-ladylike bun at the crown of the head. First, hair was spritzed with Aveda’s Volumizing Tonic, tied up into an elastic and then flat-ironed. For texture, he added Aveda Brilliant and fastened another elastic at the end of the tail so that the bun wouldn’t collapse. To give the ‘do the sense of urgency he was going for. Ryan used Aveda Pure Abundance Hair Potion for a bit more texture. The result was a roughed-up and relaxed ballerina-style bun that looked like the models created it themselves.
The Makeup: Makeup artist Romy Soleimani for Beauty.com used Kevyn Aucoin products to create the fresh, pigmented look that complimented the clothes. The result was a schoolgirl look, leaving skin shiny and lips matte but infused with color. Romy applied Kevyn Aucoin’s The Sensual Skin Enhancer to skin in addition to The Sensual Skin Tinted Balm. Joanna Vargas’ Rejuvenating Serum was applied all over skin to create fresh, flowing skin with an almost oily finish. Brows and lashes were left virtually untouched, except for girls whose brows weren’t as full. For the lips, she drew on a bit of Kevyn Aucoin The Flesh Tone Lip Pencil in Cerise before brushing a bright orange blush called Fira on the lips to complete the punchy pout.
The Mani: Inspired by Japanese architecture, this nail look is an ultramodern interpretation of traditional feminine silhouettes. Katie Hughes swiped the nails with Butter London Nail Foundation before making white half moons on each finger with a small brush. She used Cotton Buds to create the mod look.
