THE SHOW: Ruffian Fall 2014
THE HAIR: Drawing inspiration from medieval paintings, Catwalk by TIGI Global Director Nick Irwin created a blowout that featured volume at the crown and a blown back hairline with a slight curl at the bottom for an expensive, aristocratic look.
TO GET THE LOOK:
1. Mist hair with water and spray roots with Catwalk by TIGI Your Highness Root Boost Spray. Use a round brush to blow dry hair straight with a slight bend at the ends, lifting hair at the root and blowing back at the crown.
2. Next divide hair vertically into four sections and spray each with Catwalk by TIGI Session Series Work it Hairspray. Using a 2-inch curling icon to curl hair horizontally to the nape of the neck. Spray again before unclamping and removing the iron from hair without unraveling. Set curl with a duckbill clip and spray hairspray again.
3. After hair has cooled remove clips and brush smooth. Lightly tease roots at the crown with a fine tooth comb.
4. Use fingers to scrunch hair from the bottom to break up the length for natural movement. Finish with hairspray.
THE MAKEUP: MAC Cosmetic artists created a sophisticated beauty look fit for an expensive lady. Shimmering smokey shadow was applied in a round shape and a dash of eyeliner on the lash line aimed to give them a pop. Lips were lined in burgundy and colored in cranberry.
THE MANI: Ruffian boys Brian Wolk and Claude Morais are no strangers to the importance of stylish tips. The creative directors have their own polish line, after all, and work with manicure maven Cheryl Natoli to create stunning nails to complement their every show. This round, it was all about the half moon mani, created with the new trio line of metallic lacquers from Ruffian: Rosary (rose gold), Ambrosia (lavender), and Relic (taupe) , each inspired by the illuminated manuscripts.
