INSPIRATION: For his debut at the house of Balenciaga, Alexander Wang drew inspiration from both his own designs for his eponymous collection (the shape of his racer back tanks) and the storied, revered structure put in place by Nicolas Ghesquiere. Marble played a great deal of importance in the collection, along with the shape of his creations. In focusing on the idea of a wardrobe, Wang infused the Balenciaga style to modern day staples like the pea coat and pencil skirt.
