Barneys Brings Lady Gaga Home for the Holidays
By Valis Vicenty
August 15, 2011
Barneys is getting an early start on holiday decorating. This year, the luxury retailer is collaborating with Lady Gaga to recreate an edgier Santa’s Workshop. The iconic Madison Avenue flagship will be decking its windows and some of it’s halls with all things Gaga; the workshop will take over the fifth floor of the Men’s Store. Artists Eli Sudbrack and Christophe Hamaide Pierson of Assume Vivid Astro Focus worked with Barneys’ creative director Dennis Freedman to create signature artwork that will be featured on holiday shopping bags and packaging. Nicola Formichetti, who is Thierry Mugler and Gaga’s creative director, and “Mother Monster” herself collaborated with the store to create exclusive, limited-edition small gifts only available in Gaga’s Workshop. In the spirit of the season, Barneys will donate 25% of the proceeds to a charity of the singer-songwriter’s choosing. For more information, please visit Barneys.com.
