Barneys New York’s always-anticipated warehouse sales will finally a permanent place to call home on the Internet.
The famous flagship is re-launching BarneysWarehouse.com on February 4th to help shoppers who don’t live near one the retailer’s 13 outlet stores find bargains on past season items for men’s, women’s, children, beauty, and home with Chelsea Passage.
Barneys had initially launched the site back in August of two weeks to dip its toe in the online market and found that it could play off of its original e-tailer. But the launch of the online outlet won’t keep customers away from its physical warehouse sales even with the expansion of e-commerce as it is already looking into a downtown location. “I certainly think this could be our biggest store,” said Daniella Vitale, chief merchant and executive vice president of Barneys. “ The online business is explosive and the fastest growing business we have. The warehouse sale is [a factory] outlet in the same way that Barneys.com is a flagship and should reflect the Madison Avenue location.”
