Lou Doillon is letting fashion control her. Literally. Jane Birkin’s French singer, model, actress daughter and her life-size marionette replica are all dressed up for Barneys New York, the puppet master in Proenza Schouler–furthering the 10-year love affair between the brand and the department store.

All in the name of the upscale retailer’s fall 2013 campaign. Shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, who recently snapped Jason Wu and Christy Tulrington’s dinner date, the model and her wooden companion further the brand’s alter-ego concept prevalent in this campaign.

“This ‘alter-ego concept, specifically the puppet itself, is integrated into all aspects of the project: the print campaign, a video filmed by Inez and Vinoodh during the shoot and the Madison [Avenue where the flagship store is in New York] window installation,” Barney’s creative director Dennis Freedman told Women’s Wear Daily.

Points for creativity, Barneys!
