We’re used to seeing Gisele Bündchen glammed up and gorgeous in Victoria’s Secret Angel mode, but her latest campaign is a complete 180°! The Brazilian model stars in Sonia Rykiel’s Fall ad campaign, completely sans makeup!

Styled by Katie Grand, the makeup-free model posed for Juergen Teller’s camera in the paint aisle of an art store. Our favorite feature has to be the sprinkle of freckles across her nose and cheeks.

The new campaign is just another sign that fresh faces are here to stay for fall. The look became a big runway staple for both the spring and fall seasons. And we’re personally psyched to see more industry insiders embracing all the things that make them unique and, in their own way, #flawless.

How to style it:
1. Finger comb hair into a ponytail at the height you like and secure with an elastic.

Christian Louboutin Finally Unleashes Luxe Nail Lacquers

After months of major anticipation, Christian Louboutin has jumped in feet first in to the beauty biz.

The famous shoe designer partnered with Batallure Beauty to create a range of nail polishes to pump up pedicures with a truly luxe look and feel. The first to take the spotlight with be the shoe authority’s signature red hue, Rouge Louboutin, which will debut today at the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship and 15 Louboutin boutiques in the U.S. The rest of the shades of the first collection will hit shelves in time to unofficially close out the summer on August 31. “If I do beauty, I have to do it my way,” Louboutin told Women’s Wear Daily.

Priced at $50 a bottle, the formula boasts the highest percentage of pigment in the industry. The designer grouped his new beauty buys into three color families–Pop, Nude, and Noir and plans to add fresh hues to each category at least twice a year. The luxe lacquer will come housed in a 16-faceted bottle shaped by a hand-held flame, topped with a sharp black spike (whose underside shows up red like his sexy shoes), and arrives in a hand-made box. “I am someone who likes objects,” he explained. “I wanted the color to be almost frozen in a pack of glass. It’s actually a very classical bottle.”

The shoe designer naturally started with nail color, given that his first red bottom came courtesy of a bottle of lacquer at one of his early lookbook shoots. “I always end up questioning myself, ‘What should be on the nail?’” he said. Though he had tried a one off shade with MAC, it wasn’t until he spotted his vibrant soles at a Jeremy Scott show in Paris with former Le Figaro journalist Janie Samet that he decided to give a beauty line serious thought. “It made sense to me,” Louboutin said. “A lot of signs were there.”

But he’s not stopping there, as a Rouge Louboutin lipstick might be the next necessity on his list. Rouged lips, tips, toes, and soles? Oh my!

Whenever a shipment of beauty samples come to the office, I’m always the one person who jumps to check out the brushes before anything else. As many makeup artists have told me throughout the years, products are only as good as the tools you use to apply them with. Anyone who has tried on lipstick using a brush at the beauty counter–and then failed to create that same flawless finish at home–knows what I mean.

So when a bag of Artis brushes landed on my desk a few weeks ago, I immediately volunteered to take them for a test drive. Founder Matthew Waitesmith, who spent over 16 years at MAC Cosmetics, eventually leading their entire Artist Training and Development program, took all his learnings from working with every beauty product under the sun to develop a collection of brushes designed to transform how makeup is applied. For starters, the brushes are made with an engineered fiber, especially designed to apply, distribute, and blend products for the smoothest application. Each brush also has, on average, 3 to 10 times as many individual fibers as most other brushes to help grip and deposit powders. Upon picking up the biggest brush in the collection (Artis Elite Oval 10), I immediately noticed the density of the brush head, and found it to be especially great for setting powder, buffing foundation, blending highlighter, and even applying moisturizer! The bristles are so soft, in fact, that I often just catch myself brushing my face for no reason while sitting at my desk.

Head specifications aside, the brushes also boasts a unique handle and design, which is created for a more ergonomic application and better control. The mirrored brush stem adds a luxe feel to the collection, while a special rubber section gives better grip. Applying makeup using Artis brushes is a bit different than what you may be used to, but they’re actually pretty intuitive and the results speak for themselves.

Day in the Life: Noemi Grupenmager, Founder of Uni K Wax Centers

Noemi Grupenmager has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. Though she strengthened her business savvy in the printing industry, she became beauty groundbreaker in 1993 when she opened the first center devoted to just waxing, Uni K Wax Centers. Using her own proprietary wax, her business flourished with dozens of locations throughout the U.S. and simultaneously created a new concept of bodycare that has become mainstream. Glam caught up with the waxing expert to share a few details from a typical day, including finding her center on the beach, scoping out new center locations, and spending time with her family.

5:30 AM I wake up at my Miami Beach apartment which overlooks the ocean in Sunny Isles Beach, FL. Then I head to the kitchen to make a fresh brew of tea, topped with fresh grated ginger and lemon.
6:00 AM Over a hot brew and the picturesque view, I check emails which arrived overnight and reply.
7:30 AM Call the grandchildren who are planning to sleep over on the weekend.
7:45 AM In order to be a strong and peaceful leader, I start the day with Nicole Ruiz Falco, yoga therapist, Lululemon Ambassador and founder of YogavedaCenter.com. She combines strengthening poses, like warrior 2, and relaxing 3-part breathing mediation for a refreshed mind and a positive outlook on a new day.


9:00 AM Return home and get ready for the office.
10:00 AM I arrive at the office.
10:30 AM After greeting the staff and receiving an update and messages, I begin my day with urgent staff appointments. The task list for the day includes meeting to discuss the new office, new product for the retail centers, lunch with a New York franchisee, and inspecting a Center.
12:00 PM I have a staff meeting with the Architectural Project Manager to discuss new office move and design requirements, as well as a new center layout.


12:30 PM I attend a meeting with the Distribution Manager and the Director of Marketing to discuss the launch of a new tweezer range to complement the eyebrow waxing services in the Uni K Wax Centers.
1:30 PM I then head out to lunch with the franchisees, discussing the under construction location of 155 55th Street in Manhattan, NY. Lunch was a Carpaccio at Bal Harbour Shops.
2:00 PM Upon returning to the office, I have a meeting with the Legal Compliance Manager, Vice President of Finance, and the Vice President of Operations to discuss a new corporate Center opening.


2:30 PM Visit to the North Miami Uni K Wax Center to inspect operations.


3:00 PM I head up a full staff meeting on corporate direction for the upcoming quarter.
4:00 PM I then attend a staff meeting to discuss the budget for moving to the new offices with the Project Manager and the Vice President of Finance.
5:00 PM I meet with a potential franchisee as well as other key staff members.
5:30 PM I leave for the day and call the Aventura Center to meet with the Director of Waxer Training to discuss the next training schedule and a new product in the research department to further enhance the customer’s waxing experience.
7:00 PM I open my apartment door to my daughters and grandchildren who are joining me for dinner.
