François Demachy, Dior’s resident perfumer, has replicated the scent of fresh Dior in his new fragrance, “Cuir Cannage.” Demachy claims, “I wanted it to smell of leather, but there is also [a hint of] lipstick, tissues, and imagination.” Sounds like a heavenly combo, no? [Style.com.]

Something tells us Enrique Iglesias smells very good. Now we can get a little whiff–the sexy singer is launching his own fragrance with Coty Inc. in August called Adrenaline. Iglesias said of the process, “It took quite awhile to get exactly the right combinations, but I wanted to be 100 percent convinced that it was perfect.” While it’s said that nothing is perfect, this fragrance probably comes close. Clé de Peau Beauté is covering all the bases, quite literally. On the hunt for a scent that is both classic and modern? Look no further than perfumer Francis Kurkdjian‘s new men and women’s fragrance, Pluriel. He says of the scents, “The idea is [for people to say] maybe I’ve smelled this before, but I am not sure because there is something intriguing I have not seen before.” This idea of developing a fragrance that seems familiar but offers a new contemporary twist is truly special. Bangin' Bangs

By  July 25, 2014

It’s the summer of drastic hair changesand while many celebs went for shade switches, some opted for a new style. Initially, we were a bit skeptical about bangs being a new summer trend (nobody likes their hair sticking to their forehead…), but we immediately changed our minds when we saw these celebs rocking the ‘do.

Get the Look: Blake Lively’s Vogue-Worthy Western Waves

By  July 25, 2014

We were instantly taken when we spotted Blake Lively showing off pastoral perfection on the cover of Vogue. But our eyes were drawn to her windswept strands, which were carefully crafted by Oribe himself for the Jackson Hole, Wyoming shoot. Drawing inspiration from the rustic set, he opted for effortless waves that you can easily snag at home. “Whatever natural movement you actually have in your hair is your individual wave pattern,” he explained. “Don’t try to force a different texture with a curling iron; you can, however, enhance your natural wave with products that encourage texture.”

Oribe started by washing Lively blonde locks with his Signature Shampoo before deep conditioning it with his Signature Moisture Masque. He then fired up the blow dryer, going against the grain of the hair to add texture and body. Oribe then spritzed the Soft Dry Conditioner Spray throughout her hair and then added a layer of the Dry Texturizing Spray at the crown to create more shape so the tresses can have natural separation and fullness for the final cover shot.

Beauty Buzz: Marc Jacobs Channels Deodorant, Ephemeral Scents, Get A Gilded 'Do With Kérastase

By  July 24, 2014

Inspiration is everywhere. So while the rest of us were throwing our deodorant into our gym bags and just using it, Marc Jacobs decided to model a foundation stick in the everyday necessity’s packaging. The result is a travel-friendly, easy to use foundation stick, which is a part of his fall collection. He has now saved the millions of women who have experienced a broken foundation bottle after a long flight. Thank you, Marc!  [Refinery 29]

Climate change is a bummer, and artist Catherine Young will agree. She has decided to bottle up eight scents of things that we will eventually lose: Coasts, Coffee (no, please!), Honey, Wine, Eucalyptus, Peanuts, Ice, and Hardwood trees. Called The Ephemeral Marvels Perfume Store it was created in partnership with Givaudan, which is known for its commitment to environmental sustainability. As we mourn the eventual demise of these things we love, we can at least wear them as our scents. What might Ice will smell like? [Fast Company]

Our hair deserves only the best. So Kérastase‘s collaboration with former A.P.C. designer, Vanessa Seward, for a small collection of gold hair accessories is some seriously good news. Seward was reportedly inspired by Kérastase’s Couture Styling Collection and also her infatuation for gold accessories. Sounds like a woman after our own hearts. Get your hands on these limited edition accessories before someone else whisks them away! [Glam Inbox]

If blondes truly have more fun, looks like Lauren Conrad is about to have a whole lot more of it. The bride-to-be has debuted her newly colored, platinum blonde locks on her Instagram with the caption: “Things are getting real blonde around here…” Her hair, styled in gorgeous, loose waves, is significantly lighter than her original dirty blonde shade. Hair envy begins now! [GlamBlush]

Watch out Sephora! Pharmacies offering cheaper products are growing competition, especially in Europe where the shelves are increasingly being stocked with organic products with a more forgiving price tag. Head of L’Oreal, Jean-Paul Agon says, ”Pharmacies are a place where people go regularly, where the pharmacist’s advice is well regarded and the value for money proposition of the brands they sell is appreciated by consumers.” While that may be true, we’ll still be hitting up Sephora on the regular. Gisele Bündchen Stuns Sans Makeup in Sonia Rykiel’s Fall Ads

By  July 24, 2014

We’re used to seeing Gisele Bündchen glammed up and gorgeous in Victoria’s Secret Angel mode, but her latest campaign is a complete 180°! The Brazilian model stars in Sonia Rykiel’s Fall ad campaign, completely sans makeup!

Styled by Katie Grand, the makeup-free model posed for Juergen Teller’s camera in the paint aisle of an art store. Our favorite feature has to be the sprinkle of freckles across her nose and cheeks.

The new campaign is just another sign that fresh faces are here to stay for fall. The look became a big runway staple for both the spring and fall seasons. And we’re personally psyched to see more industry insiders embracing all the things that make them unique and, in their own way, #flawless.

From sodas and snacks–even cupcakes–to electronics and makeup, there’s a vending for nearly everything! But Essie is giving the idea a fresh coat with its first digital kiosk.

Designed for the glam globetrotter or the mani maven on the go, the kiosk offers an easy interface to choose their favorite of 48 shades or go bold with one of eight curated nail art looks complete with a link to a tutorial. 3 Undone Hairstyles That Make Messy A Must

Have you heard about the latest street-style trend fashionistas everywhere are keen to copy? It’s called “laid-back chic,” a look that focuses on mixing tailored, sophisticated style with more casual aesthetics. The result is an ensemble that’s ahead of the fashion game but that looks as if minimal effort were involved in its design. The idea has also translated well into the beauty-sphere, where natural makeup and undone, textured hairstyles are a must. To master the messy-hair look, we’ve rounded up three of our favorite dos in which imperfection rules and sleek strands are a no-no. That’s right—it’s time to embrace your sloppy-chic side.

The messy bun
Where to wear it: daytime events like work, shopping, lunch, or travel
How to style it:
1. Finger comb hair into a ponytail at the height you like and secure with an elastic.
2. Mist hair with Garnier Fructis De-Constructed Texture Tease Hairspray. This essential product will provide tousled, airy fullness for a windblown look.
3. Pull hair around scalp to loosen up the hold, creating a round shape and adding height. This is key, so your style doesn’t look too polished.
4. Mist ponytail portion with Garnier Fructis Full Control Anti-Humidity Hairspray and tease hair to add grip and texture.
5. Twist ponytail around base of elastic and casually secure to base with bobby pins. Don’t worry if some pieces look loose.

Bedhead waves
Where to wear it: warm-weather nights outside that call for an easy but sultry style
How to style it:
1. Divide dry or damp hair and clip into sections
2. Twist each section into pin curls using bobby pins and mist with Garnier Fructis De-Constructed Beach Chic Sea Salt Texturizing Spray to hold your waves in a natural—not stiff or weighted-down—way.
3. Let air-dry or use a hair-dryer.
4. Remove clips and finger-comb hair into messy, piecey waves for a natural look. Secure style with Garnier Fructis De-Constructed Texture Tease Hairspray for extra oomph.

An undone braid
Where to wear it: beachside, music festivals, weekend daytime parties—anywhere you can let your free spirit show
How to style it:
1. Make a side part using your fingers and gather the side with more hair in front of your shoulder.
2. Separate hair into three sections and spray Garnier Fructis De-Constructed Texture Tease Dry Touch Finish Spray throughout each section for texture and grip.
3. Braid loosely, allowing strands to fall out, and secure with an elastic.
4. Finish with Garnier Fructis De-Constructed Texture Tease Hairspray, gently pulling on hair around scalp to loosen up the look.

Christian Louboutin Finally Unleashes Luxe Nail Lacquers

By  July 23, 2014

After months of major anticipation, Christian Louboutin has jumped in feet first in to the beauty biz.

The famous shoe designer partnered with Batallure Beauty to create a range of nail polishes to pump up pedicures with a truly luxe look and feel. The first to take the spotlight with be the shoe authority’s signature red hue, Rouge Louboutin, which will debut today at the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship and 15 Louboutin boutiques in the U.S. The rest of the shades of the first collection will hit shelves in time to unofficially close out the summer on August 31. “If I do beauty, I have to do it my way,” Louboutin told Women’s Wear Daily.

Priced at $50 a bottle, the formula boasts the highest percentage of pigment in the industry. The designer grouped his new beauty buys into three color families–Pop, Nude, and Noir and plans to add fresh hues to each category at least twice a year. The luxe lacquer will come housed in a 16-faceted bottle shaped by a hand-held flame, topped with a sharp black spike (whose underside shows up red like his sexy shoes), and arrives in a hand-made box. “I am someone who likes objects,” he explained. “I wanted the color to be almost frozen in a pack of glass. It’s actually a very classical bottle.”

The shoe designer naturally started with nail color, given that his first red bottom came courtesy of a bottle of lacquer at one of his early lookbook shoots. “I always end up questioning myself, ‘What should be on the nail?’” he said. Though he had tried a one off shade with MAC, it wasn’t until he spotted his vibrant soles at a Jeremy Scott show in Paris with former Le Figaro journalist Janie Samet that he decided to give a beauty line serious thought. “It made sense to me,” Louboutin said. “A lot of signs were there.”

But he’s not stopping there, as a Rouge Louboutin lipstick might be the next necessity on his list. Rouged lips, tips, toes, and soles? Oh my!
