Mally Roncal is not only a backstage staple during fashion week, she’s also been the go-to makeup maven for Beyoncé since 2002! She waved her makeup brush to transform Queen Bey into Marilyn Monroe for her Out spread, and now she’s spilling some of her secrets!
The makeup mogul gave up the goods to Allure about her first encounter with the icon and how she “perfected perfection” for the cover shoot — by first getting inspired by Blue Ivy’s mom herself. “There’s not a lot of faces like hers in the universe, in the stratosphere,” she told the glossy. “She had very strong opinions. I wanted to give her just a little more smoldering, smoky appeal.”
To smolder like the songstress, she crafted a Bey-approved cat eye and contoured the lids with her signature Evercolor Shadow Stick in Saddle Shimmer, adding loads of her Volumizing Mascara. Roncal didn’t bother with the brows though. “Beyoncé’s brows are perfect,” she explained. “They’re very, very beautiful and naturally shaped. God made them like that.” To add to the singer’s diamond-grade glowing skin, she applied the Evercolor Face Defender to erase pores and Super Natural Highlighter for added lift. She polished the lip with her High Shine Liquid Pen in Nude Light.
Judging by the final shots pretty doesn’t hurt for Bey or Mally!
