5-23-knoend1.jpg 2008-ICFF-SF.jpgSan Francisco-based Knoend, whose slogan is "ecodesign for everyone", debuted their new line of ergonomic seating at this year's International Contemporary Furniture Fair. We loved the way the Bean Rocker looked, but what really surprised us was how much we loved sitting in it.

The floor rocker "intuitively finds one⿿s center of balance" and while we're not sure exactly what that means it definitely did some great things for our spine. After sitting in one for twenty minutes our back felt better than it had since getting off the plane two days before. Their small size means the rockers would make great extra seating for people living in small spaces. The Bean Rockers are part of a line of four floor rockers from Knoend, the others are the Fava Rocker, the Lima Rocker and the Sprout Rocker. Knoend also has a line of low tables that complement the rockers. Since Knoend is a green company, all of the rockers are made from FSC-certified plywood and come with organic cotton cushions. The bean rocker is available for $125 through Knoend's website.
