Answering the call to provide stylish alternatives to the dreaded (but oh-so-comfortable) glider, designer Jeanice Skvaril gives us the Slice Rocker. Design wise it is, dare I say, a little slice of heaven. I love its graceful form, the natural, wooden base, and, of course, the orange seat. It's inspired by a cantaloupe wedge, don't you know?

I can't quite conceive of how you'd comfortably nurse a baby in this, but it does look like a cozy place in which to rock baby to sleep. In fact, it's so appealing that I would buy this in a minute, except for one thing - it's two grand. At that price one of the following must be true:

a) You figure you can use it for years...like when youre knitting booties for your great grandkids,
b) You've told your husband that he may not feed baby in it until they both have donned their full-body HAZMAT suits, or
c) You have money to burn.

Or perhaps it's so fabulous that it's the one nursery item on which you'd like to splurge. Every mother-to-be needs one of those.
