I wonder if the epilogue isn’t just too fairy tale. The kid can’t just retire at 17! He can’t just marry the female version of his best friend and have three kids and “all is well.” I mean, sure, he deserves a little down time, but man. What about earning the gold? And hey, facing a two year-old who has missed his or her nap is not always easier than staring down Voldemort!
