From family films and big-name blockbusters to movies generating Oscar buzz, ET has a special preview of this season's big holiday movies!
Family movies often dominate the Christmas season often starting the first week in November and this year is no exception. First out of the gate is 'Fred Claus,' in theaters now, with VINCE VAUGHN in the title role as Santa Claus' black sheep brother. Oscar nominee PAUL GIAMATTI plays the conflicted St. Nick looking to dole out a little "tough love." Also just out is 'Mr. Magoriums Womder Emperium,' with DUSTIN HOFFMAN and NATALIE PORTMAN channeling a little Willy Wonka as they try to save their magical toy store.
'Grace is Gone,' out Dec. 7, finds JOHN CUSACK as a suddenly widowed father (after his wife is killed in the line of duty) who takes his daughters on a road trip. QUEEN LATIFAH co-stars in 'The Perfect Holiday,' out Dec. 12, about a divorced mother of three looking for a little Christmas cheer. And ramping up the special effects are a big-screen version of 'Alvin and the Chipmunks,' out Dec. 14, with JASON LEE as their hapless manager, Dave, and 'The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep,' about children who discover a friendly Loch Ness monster.
