Sera Anti-Aging Eye Wrinkle Serum

sera%201.gif I think Sera's slogan -- Roll-Away Wrinkles-- is so cute! They have five products that are cruelty and fragrance-free and can each be applied using a roll-on applicator made out of recycled (and recyclable) glass, which given that the Eye Wrinkle Serum I tried-out needed to be applied 3 times a day for 3 weeks was very useful (I totally would have never had the time/patience to apply this product otherwise..). When I first put on the serum it felt a bit like I was putting Purell on my face -- cool and sticky! While it stayed sticky, the gooey feeling goes away fairly quickly and the application area is smoother and more hydrated afterwards. Luckily, I don't have too many wrinkles around my eyes yet, so it's a bit hard to say for sure how well this product actually worked, but I do have sleep-deprived-related puffiness and lines that have gone down since I first started using the product which contains both cucumber and aloe. It's always hard to tell what that can be attributed to of course and I have been on prescription medication cream because of an allergic reaction I had to a yet-to-be-determined product (who knows when you use so many..errr!), so certainly some of the improvements can be related to that (also I've been using some Olay products which I will write about soon, so stay tuned!), but I do think Sera's line is worth trying. Each product retails for $39.95 and it's so much easier than your typical anti-wrinkle cream to apply -- it literally takes 2 seconds and there's no mess. The products can also be applied over or under makeup which is always nice given that the product needs to be applied 2-3 times a day.

NUVO: Chamomile Floral Water
By: Beauty Snob    0 days 22 hours 51 minutes ago

cam.jpgThis spray is so refreshing! With summer in full swing, it's nice to give your face a refreshing spritz here and there to lift your spirits and rehydrate. I received my bottle of Chamomile Floral Water just before I left for Alaska last week (which is beautiful, by the way). And because of the 3oz liquid rule I opted to leave it at home instead of taking the time to transfer some into a travel size bottle for my flight. It was about an hour into the flight when my skin began to dry out from the recycled air, and I sat wishing I had taken the time to pack it. For the rest of my flight, and the flight home I sat in longing for my delightful chamomile floral water! Keep it in the refrigerator for a cool mist in the afternoon. I will make this a permanent addition to my beach bag this summer! -only $12.00 for 6.76 fl oz!! ***BEAUTY NOTE: Chamomile oil has antiallergenic, antiseptic, cooling, analgesic and healing properties; which can be used to treat sunburn or acne. You can also use it as a toner to remove excess cleanser and hydrate your skin.***

Prescriptives Fall 2008 Color Collection

Mineral%20Foundation-%20Brush%20Story.jpg Sometimes I think that being a beauty junkie is a curse for someone who, like me, has very sensitive skin. Every few months the skin around my eyes freaks-out on me and I wake-up a puffy, red mess and I end-up having to go to my optometrist only for him to, once again, prescribe a cream, tell me not to wear any cosmetics for a week and then there's nothing to do but test-out product after product trying to find which one is the culprit -- even makeup that for years didn't cause problems, can suddenly irritate your skin, so the struggle for those of us who are constantly switching-up their routine is nothing if not a challenge! This of course leads me to Prescriptives and the timing couldn't be better, because their fall colors just came out and while the colors aren't my fav (can anything come close to Chanel!?), they're just what I need to make sure my face doesn't go crazy right now! The colors are a nice mix of soft neutrals and darks (Plum, Fig, Cobalt), and all are dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested. Read more for the complete rundown of the new Prescriptives colors!

BrauHaus with Eyebrow Guru Zoey

PRESS.jpg
form follows function.
My mom had heard from a client -who heard from a friend, that the guru of all things eyebrows, -Zoey, from the infamous Anastasia Salon- had up and started her own salon in lovely Pasadena, California (less than 30 minutes from downtown LA) on March 25 of this year. While I was unconvinced that spending $10 more than what I usually pay would be worth a few (more or less) hairs- my mother argued otherwise. So I gave in, and once again...mom was right. ......Click the link below for Before and After pics!

TriBeCa MedSpa

2615803509_7249177c3f.jpg I check-out a MedSpa for the first time the other day! I went to an event at TriBeCa MedSpa and I have to say I felt a lot like one of the Real Housewives of Orange County getting the tour of the space where you can get anything from Botox to Medical Pedicures to Laser Hair removal, along with a bunch of other heavy-duty services. The spa has won countless accolades and was voted #1 MedSpa by Day Spa Magazine. They gave-out an interesting little document they put together with the Must-Have Bridal Beauty Services for various age groups that I thought some of you might be interested in:) Note, that I myself have never tried these treatments, so feel free to comment with your insights! I did get to try 2 products that I loved though -- *Oil Free Sun Block SPF 30 ($36 for 4oz) -- It's oil-free, fragrance-free, and absorbs almost instantly without a greasy residue (I literally couldn't tell where I had or had not put it on because it absorbed so quickly!). *I just received some feedback on Rosewater moisturizer and the spa had an excellent one -- Rosewater ($55 for 4oz) -- great for a mid-day spritz in this crazy heat!! Read on for the Beauty Countdown of suggested treatments for Brides-to-be!
