Remember the good old days when Jessica and Ashlee Simpson were best friends? Like the hair colors they⿿re now sporting and the guys they are seeing, the relationship between the once-close siblings is no longer what it used to be. While their reps insist the sisters are still close, a tsunami seems to be building. ⿿There⿿s certainly a sibling rivalry between them,⿿ a source close to the two tells Star. The trouble began, says another insider when Jess⿿s boyfriend, John Mayer, pointed to a glamorous magazine photo and asked Jess, ⿿How old is this picture of you?⿿ But-whoops!-it was a shot of Ashlee! ⿿Jessica read John the riot act,⿿ says our source. ⿿He definitely touched a nerve.⿿ Her sensitivity on the subject seems to be the direct result of Ashlee⿿s emergence as a sex kitten, a role once owned by Jessica. That Ashlee has become the hot blonde ⿿ a transformation that came courtesy of a surgeon⿿s knife, a bottle of peroxide and dramatic weight loss- is troubling to Jessica, who has morphed into a buxom and sometimes frumpy brunette due to a dye job and about 20 extra pounds. ⿿Jessica hears the catty talk about how Ashlee looks like her- from two years ago,⿿ says the source. ⿿It totally bothers her.⿿
Nicole Wasting Away Again!
Like always, Nicole Richie made heads turn in Australia during her visit to Sydney⿿s Taronga Zoo with rocker beau, Joel Madden, on April 30th. But it wasn⿿t just the starlet⿿s famous face ⿿ it was her bony chest, spindly arms and bony shoulders. Her scary-thin appearance recalls shocking pictures of her on Malibu beach in August 2006. Nicole seemed to be getting healthier showing off a shapelier figure and a fuller, prettier face; sources confirm that she⿿s heading back to her life-threatening ways! A Richie-clan friend reveals, ⿿Her family⿿s worried again. Her bones are showing, and she⿿s really skinny. No one wants to see a repeat of last summer!⿿ It may be her new fitness plan, the source says, ⿿She⿿s working out too much and not eating enough. She⿿s working out about an hour a day on the stationary bike and elliptical machine, plus she⿿s lifting weight.⿿
According to an insider, Nicole is desperate to please Joel ⿿ and she thinks the way to do it is by competing with his super svelte future sister-in-law. A source tells Star ⿿She⿿s hoping to get married to Joel.⿿ According to West Hollywood-based nutritionist Meredith Holden, Nicole is ⿿transferring addictions (from drug abuse to) avoiding food and trying to control her weight!⿿
Stars Welcome Posh & Becks to Hollywood!
Now that Victoria and David Beckham have signed the papers on their $22 million Beverly Hills ⿿Beckingham Palace,⿿ Hollywood A-listers flock like moths to a bonfire. A source tells Star, ⿿Victoria has had calls from Tyra Banks and Demi Moore, as well as Catherine Zeta Jones, who wanted to show support for a fellow Brit.⿿ Demi is even vying with Catherine to throw Posh her first ⿿welcome to Lost Angeles Party,⿿ says the insider. The star-studded ⿿Team Vick⿿ includes Roseanne Barr, novelist Jackie Collins and Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria. Posh may have ulterior motives, she is hoping that Eva can set up a meeting with Desperate Housewives⿿ producers, which help Posh score a cameo role on the show. The Source adds ⿿Victoria wants to do appearances here and there on some top-rated programs. She⿿s spoken to Simon Cowell about appearing on American Idol.⿿ Posh has already made several goof friends on her frequent visits ⿿ Brooke Shields sent her flowers, j-Lo has been taking fashion tips, and Katie Holmes, Vic⿿s closest friend, and favorite shopping partner. And that⿿s a situation Chris is already used to, says a source- who claims Chris and Gayle began romancing while her then husband was fighting in Iraq! ⿿Gayle was still married when she first met Chris in the early summer of 2003, when he was hired as a fry cook at the Hooters in his hometown of Chesapeake, Va.,⿿ the source tells Star. ⿿They started dating, and they didn⿿t try to keep it a secret. Gayle was still wearing her wedding ring, and everyone knew she was married, including Chris. Apparently neither of them cared.⿿ Local Virginia newspapers recently featured a number of interviews with Gayle, 26, who is always describes as Chris⿿s ⿿girlfriend of four years.⿿ But according to Virginia Beach Circuit Court documents, in her June 2005 divorce filing against her husband, she lists their separation date as September 2004- more than a year after the source says she and Chris began dating!
