The beloved filmmaker has passed away.
ET has learned that Oscar-winning actor/director SYDNEY POLLACK ('Tootsie,' 'Out of Africa,' 'The Electric Horseman') died from cancer today at his Los Angeles home. He was 73.
A talented director who won an Oscar for 'Out of Africa,' the paternal, curly-haired Pollack was also recognizable for his many on-screen roles. He played DUSTIN HOFFMAN's agent in 'Tootsie' and appeared in 'Michael Clayton,' "Will & Grace" and, most recently, 'Made of Honor.'
