Crossroads and 8 Mile star Taryn Manning feels she has been hustled by the producer of her Hustle & Flow movie - because she⿿s still awaiting payment. The actress, who played a desperate hooker in the acclaimed 2005 movie, claims she⿿s still waiting to get paid after agreeing to make the small film for next to nothing.
She tells Stuff magazine, ⿿The one thing that sucked was that our contracts weren⿿t really honored by John Singleton (producer). He hired actors who were willing to work for scale and take their back-end points (profits). Then the movie sold at Sundance (Film Festival) for all this money, and we really just got nothing.
⿿Everyone thinks I⿿m so loaded from Hustle & Flow, and it⿿s such a joke because the guy completely d**ked us over. He (Singleton) made a comment: ⿿They all have careers now because of me.⿿ Yeah, (co-star) Terrence Howard has an incredible career now because of you, but the rest of us? We were kind of looking forward to that paycheck.⿿
