As Heidi confirmed for us last week,
The Hills is definitely coming back for a third season.
MTV announced it has renewed
The Hills for a third season, as the
Laguna Beach spin-off will continue to follow Lauren, Whitney, Audrina and Heidi as they live their personal and professional lives in Los Angeles.
The Hills third season is scheduled to premiere sometime this summer.
The second season of
The Hills was the most watched program in its Mondays from 10PM to 10:30PM time period in the People 12-24 demographic across all broadcast and cable networks. Viewers in that demographic grew by 25% from the first season to the second, and
The Hills second season was also up 6% among People 12-34. According to MTV,
The Hills second season reached 60 million viewers.
In addition to renewing
The Hills for a third season, MTV also announced it is bringing back
The Hills After Show, which gave fans of the reality series the chance to interact with each other following each on-air broadcast.
The success of
The Hills second season illustrates our strategy to engage viewers across all screens and to give fans the ability to stay connected to the cast and their stories when they want and where they want, said Lois Curren, MTVs president of entertainment and programming. The approach weve taken with
The Hills re-affirms that our audience is embracing the touchpoints weve created for them to stay immersed in the shows they love.
Thats all fine and nice, MTV But what we REALLY want to know is if Whitney got the job, Lauren and Heidi can repair their fragile friendship and if Spencer will get rid of the homeboy phone permanently (just an FYI - he doesnt actually HAVE a homeboy phone yall have a sense of humor when you watch the show!).
