If your name was Adam Lippes, and you studied psycology at Cornell, and worked at Oscar de la Renta, and then started your own label, what would you name your collection? With his first choice of Adam+Eve seeming to be too synonymous with clothing of a more sinister nature (Adam + Eve also happens to be the name of a chain of sex shops, go figure), it seems that Adam Lippes has engaged in a trail seperation and is now simply “ADAM”.

This fabulous designer may have lost the Apple eater but he hasn’t lost his sense of styles. ADAM continues to have his basics down to a tee, literally. Launched as a casual luxury t-shirt and basics line (one of Adam’s first pieces was a pair of mens underwear) Lippes began his career at Polo and became the Creative Director for Oscar de la Renta in his early twenties. In 2004 he launched Adam+Eve and made his escape from the corporate hustle. The collection found friends amongst those looking for a little luxe in their everyday wear.
