So now, country singer Faith Hill is saying her reaction following the announcement where country newcomer Carrie Underwood was deemed Female Vocalist of the Year, a high honor for an "Idol" winner, was a "joke."Following the announcement, the camera panned to those who'd lost, including Hill, who screamed "What?!" in the direction of the camera. Now, in damage control, Hill claims it was pure playfulness, and that it's been blown out of proportion. Yeah, right. Come on Faith, you wanted to win, and you're mad that you didn't. Honesty would be better at this point really. It's not like anyone thinks you're joking. After all, it's not like you haven't done this whole awards show thing before...if you win, the camera's on you, and if you don't win, it's on you. You should've known that would have looked immature, and yes, like a sore loser. What's up with musicians egos being so out of check lately? Reality, people. Find it....And in news of Carrie Underwood, she claimed not to take Hill's reaction seriously and according to reports the two of them are "fine." Consider this: Carrie's debut label album "Some Hearts" was wildly successful following her "Idol" win, even crossing into pop charts and countless promotion. Faith Hill's release "Fireflies" (also in 2005,) barely made a blip on the country circuit. If not for her previous recognition, it probably would have gone unnoticed. Of all the women nominated, due to the apparent success, Carrie deserved to win the most. Get over it, Faith.ETA: Leann Rimes has something to say on her official fan club. Wow....Ok, I usually keep quiet on topics like this but I feel I need to stand up for my friend, Faith. She was just being honest and emotional like every other person sitting at home with an opinion. These awards shows are SO political and we all get fed up with them. We all work very hard and have for many years so to see someone come in and win Female Vocalist that has been here for a VERY short time, is a little disheartening. That is why we have the Horizon award and Carrie had an incredible year, enough to sweep that one. I don't think Faith was angry about Her loss, she probably felt, as I did that Carrie has not payed her dues long enough to fully deserve that award. As artists and public figures, we have to keep our feelings so repressed so we don't get called ungrateful as Faith has on this board many times now. She is a very sweet and gracious woman, whom I adore. Please cut her some slack! -LeAnnThis post is going to become more controversial than it needs to be. I have enjoyed talking with you about our opinions but feel that this already is blown way out of proportion. I stand by Faith as my fellow artist and friend as an honest mistake was magnified. I also, as you know from previous post, respect Carrie and wish her well!-LeAnnSays the woman who won Best Female Country Vocal Performance at the Grammy's when she was 14 years old.
