Ah, the margarita. The poster-child of summer party drinks quenches thirst and any desire to let loose within a few tasty sips. This deliciously naughty number is from San Francisco’s festive Mamacita restaurant and bar, where beautiful people pack in nightly to partake in pitchers and delicious Mexican fare. Its bright citrus flavors are as refreshing as a purchase from the neighborhood lemonade stand, while tasty tequila undercurrent propels the palate south of the border. For poolside pleasure, we like to serve it in a pilsner glass, but come cocktail hour, straight up and sexy is the way to go. Oh mamacita!

Mamacita Margarita

  • 2 oz. 100% blue agave silver tequila (Mamacita uses Herradura)
  • Juice of 1 fresh lime
  • 1 tsp. agave nectar
  • 2 oz. simple syrup (To make, dissolve 1/3 part sugar in 2/3 cup water)

Directions:
Shake all the ingredients in an ice-filled shaker. With a strainer, strain all of the ingredients into a martini glass (salted rim is optional). Garnish with a lime and enjoy.
