We interviewed one of the men behind the ladies of SATC, producer John Melfi. Here’s what he had to say … 

How does it feel to be here tonight?
To be in the city which represents the fifth lady ⿿ to be a guy here representing the cast as well. It⿿s thrilling I feel like this what it⿿s like to be a wanted guy or something.

So, when the there was first talk of a movie did you jump at the opportunity?
Oh absolutely. We all sort of woke up one day and were like ⿿Oh it⿿s time!⿿ And Sarah Jessica was like ⿿Let⿿s do it.⿿ So it was thrilling.

And what was it like when you reunited on set?
It was like stepping backing time in a dreamy way. Like ⿿Wow here we are in hair and makeup again, and everyone looks amazing again.⿿ It⿿s a thrill.

How are you going to celebrate tonight?
Let⿿s get this film started and [I can⿿t wait to] hopefully hear that audience cheer and laugh and love the experience of being here the way we do. And maybe have a cosmo after we⿿re done.
