After weeks of speculation its finally been confirmed that Britney Spears will open the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards with her new single ‘Gimme More’.  An MTV explained why they decided to go with Brit.

“I wanted to start the show in a very big and dramatic way, and she’s the one to do that. She’ll captivate everyone, and set the tone for rest of the night. You can expect the things we want and expect from Britney ⿿ that will all be there. What I’ve see of it is great. She’ll be dancing, performing, dong her thing. That’s exactly what we all want.”

MTV also confirmed that Britney has been working with illusionist Criss Angel on her show that involve a lot of mirrors. Great, we get to see even more of Britney’s ass from all sorts of angels.
