More tidbits from the Heart Truth Red Dress collection show that kicked off Fashion Week:
-Juno star Allison Janney wore a sheer Donna Karan halter dress that was gathered at the waist. â??Itâ??s so great to get to play two different roles and have them be so well-received. Itâ??s been a blast,â?? she said before the show. Janney added that Donna Karan is one of her favorite designers. â??She designs well for a woman like me, tall with curves. The material she chooses drapes well and I just think sheâ??s so talented.â??
-A pregnant Mary Lynn Rajskub glided down the runway in a strapless Monique Lhuillier gown. The ankle-length dress had an empire waist and a sweetheart neckline. â??I like the strapless, flowing quality. Itâ??s very simple, and I love that,â?? said the 24 star.Expecting her first child at the end of the summer, Rajskub said her shape is rapidly changing. â??This was my first event where I tried on some pants and I was like, â??I canâ??t zip them up.â?? I definitely canâ??t hide it any longer," she said.
-Greyâ??s Anatomyâ??s Sara Ramirez wore a structured Angel Sanchez gown with a pleated train. On the red carpet, she said she keeps her heart healthy by exercising and sticking to a strict nutrition regime. â??And I do events like this. I know Iâ??ve got â?¦ big lashes and tons of jewelry on and this great dress, but itâ??s really about whatâ??s on the inside.â?? The actress, who has been living in New York since last month, is eagerly awaiting the end of the writersâ?? strike. â??I just saw some of my co-workers from the show at the [Screen Actorâ??s Guild] Awards and it really made me miss everybody a lot,â?? Ramirez said. â??Iâ??m just looking forward to seeing everybody again.â??
-Singer Joss Stone, in Max Axria Atelier, walked gracefully in a floor-length dress. Though no one could tell, the British singer and songwriter went barefoot. â??I just donâ??t want to fall over, so Iâ??m not wearing shoes,â?? she said. â??Itâ??s all about the dress. We donâ??t need shoes.â??
-Rita Moreno wore a Lily Samii gown. â??I think a lot of people are going to know about [Lily Samii] after this show,â?? Moreno said on the red carpet. â??The pink with the red was my idea. I said, â??Letâ??s go West Side Story on this.â??â?? --Venuri Siriwardane
