You're probably still contemplating fall's trends (skinny jeans or leggings?), but the world's fashion capital already has moved on to spring. Though many collections have yet to show at New York Fashion Week, USA TODAY's Alison Maxwell spots several spring trends already in bloom: Eyelet From dainty dresses to cropped jackets, the lightweight fabric was hot at early shows. Seen at: Charlotte Ronson, Carolina Herrera, Betsey Johnson, Imitation of Christ, Lela Rose, Diane von Furstenberg, Nanette Lepore Quotable: "It's a sort of exaggerated eyelet, very table linen-inspired. And it's a great way to make a monochromatic look pop." Short shorts Who wears short shorts? If some designers have their say, we all will. Others, such as Marc Jacobs and Carolina Herrera, opted for cropped pants with more fullness. Seen at: Rock & Republic, Betsey Johnson, Charlotte Ronson, Jill Stuart, Tracy Reese, Cynthia Steffe, Brian Reyes, Jenni Kayne, Baby Phat, Nanette Lepore Quotable: "Shorts are not going away," says Marie Claire fashion director Tracy Taylor. "Put a little volume on the top with a peasant, off-the-shoulder gauzy look." Neutrals Moniquelarge Move over brights:  Some designers opted for muted tones of cream, brown and black, with the occasional splash of color. Seen at: Luca Luca, Marc Jacobs, Monique Lhuillier, Proenza Schouler Quotable: "We are seeing tons of neutrals, very sun-bleached, tea-stained. All very English Patient, tea-in-the-Sahara sandy neutrals." Eye-popping florals From Georgia O'Keeffe-inspired prints to oversized floral embroidery, designers were in a garden state of mind. Seen at: Diane von Furstenberg, Oscar de la Renta, Reem Acra, Luca Luca, Max Azria Quotable: Florals are always big for spring, Taylor says, but these are extremely exaggerated. "Lots of poppies, wildflowers and bigger, garden-inspired prints." Other trends seen on the runway - Higher waistlines - Balloon sleeves- Chunky heels - Lace - Metallics - Headwear - Bubble skirts
