I had a chance to interview Holliston Coleman by email the other day. With a new movie coming up, Medium episodes starting again and schoolwork, I don’t know how she had the time, but I’m glad she squeezed it in.

1. How do you juggle filming and school?
I’m actually homeschooled. On the set, kids have to do three hours of school a day, so it’s not actually hard. It’s different, but not very hard.
2. What is it like working with the Medium cast?
It’s awesome! I love working with the cast, especially Sofia, she is so, so sweet. AND she’s a fantastic actress. The whole Medium cast is really good.
3. I saw on your site that you were friends with Sofia in real life. Do you forget that you are acting when you are Ariel’s friend in the episodes?
That’s so true, when we film together it’s no pressure at all. It’s just like hanging out with her, and when the director says “Cut” we just keep on talking! The only catch is that you have to remember to say a few thingsâ?¦the lines! Hahaha. But besides that, it doesn’t feel like acting at all.
4. So far this year, we’ve seen a lot more of you in the new episodes. Is this because Ariel needs a friend to talk to and support her more as she is growing up?
I guess so! I’m really glad because I love the show.
5. Do you have any pets?
Yes! We have tons of pets. We have cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, goatsâ?¦I could go on! Hahaha.
6. What is one thing about you that people would be surprised to know?
Hmm..well, I’m actually an introvert. I love people, but I definitely love being alone with a great book.
7. What is your favorite book or movie?
I have a lot of favorite movies and books, but some of them areâ?¦well, I love the movie Labyrinth, it’s a fantastic movie, my family’s watched it my whole life. I also love Spiderman and I Am Legend-that movie’s scary but it is SO amazing! It’s definitely one of the best movies I’ve seen. Wow. One of my favorite books is a book called Inkheart, it’s fantastic.
8. What is the best thing that has happened to you as an actress?
There are a lot of different answers to that question. I got to film a movie in Bulgaria when I was 8, that was such a great experience. Just being able to travel and meet new people and have new experiencesâ?¦I think that’s the best part.
9. Could you tell everyone a bit about your new movie, Proving Ground?
It’s a great movie! It’s by a man named Kevin Kraft, he’s a really great writer. He’s a great man, too! It’s a adventure movie about kids in space trying to man a spaceship while fighting off bad guys. It’s fun, and funny, too.
10. Can you tell us about your plans for the future?
I want to be an actress, definitely. I also want to travel and help people in other countries.. I got to go to India last summer, that was so amazing. I want to go back.
