The scene: Blame Canada Opening at Peres Projects, U-Bahn, Texte zur Kunst/032C Party at KIM
This was one of those slightly deranged party nights which are so Berlin. The wild boys and girls were on full swing when I arrived at Blame Canada show. Cool:-) After that, everyone moved back to Mitte cramming into this tiny club called KIM. I could truly hear the night growling when the new wave classics of Bronski Beat, Falco, and The Cure were playing.
At some stage between night and dawn I slipped outside to catch a breath of fresh air. Next thing I see is police officers. An ambulance is grinding to a halt. Apparently, some guys had just randomly pepper sprayed chilling clubbers. That was a bit of a gross way to end a party, even for Berlin. But then, no good party is over until the police sirens sing.
