The UK has history and culture, but it also has a damp climate. I'm working from hearsay, but I've been told that damp weather can turn perfectly styled straightened hair into a poofy afro in a matter of minutes. A pair of Scottish gents have invented a unique vending machine for refreshing frizzy hair on the go and ensuring that a hairstyle stays as smooth as planned.
The
Straight Up from Beautiful Vending is for straightening hair with a pay-per-use set of flat iron tongs. A pound coin buys 90 seconds of heat for working out any incidental hairstyle damage that might happen from your home to the restaurant. Beautiful Vending believes that they've come up with a great product in a classic textbook example of the widget: There are customers out there, and no one is yet selling a product that can meet their needs.
The machines have already been installed in over 500 locations in the UK, and have thus far been a great success. Their
Shell Livewire award as Scotland's best young entrepreneurs gave the company a bright boost, and they're planning to bring the machines to the states within the next year.
