I try to be low-key about my environmental beliefs…well except for here but we’re friends so it’s okay. I personally don’t want to be hit over the head with someone else’s belief system. As shocking as it is, environmental concerns to a lot of people are beliefs, not fact. I was stupefied when someone close to me recently said how awesome their new mega, uber, extreme SUV was. I asked, “are you concerned about the mileage or the amount of petrol you will be using”? To which this dear person replied, “No why would I be, we’re all going to die anyway.” The only response I could muster was, “okay well, bye.” Was that cowardly of me? Probably.

Instead of beating my dear one over the head with this I have decided to be sneaky about it. I am far from an all-natural hippy woman but to certain people the mere mention of vermicomposting means I don’t shave. So I have gathered together a few things for a gift basket for the envirophobe in my life. I’m not about to start waving a sign on the street shouting,”The end is near, repent” or anything. This would just be for someone close to you that you want to share some of the things you care about with.

You can even get them a little tin to keep it in and they can just keep refilling it. Only the Grinch could resist a yummy smelling shampoo? I plan to stash a Modmix Organic Cocktail Mix in there as well. Seriously what is up with the booze? You know after a drink or two maybe they’ll get distracted so I can sneak into their garbage and separate the recyclables. I am getting the French Martini.
