Heidi McFadyen, from St Neots, was named Professional Nanny of the Year after being nominated for her enthusiasm.
She said: “When I won I was in total shock. At first, I thought I’d come third because my name was read out first, but then I saw my name was up there.”
Heidi was assessed while working in a nursery and then had to go through five rounds of interviews.
She said: “I love my work, I can’t see me ever not working with children.
“Every morning I get to see their smiley faces. I never wake up and dread having to go to work.”
The 27-year-old currently looks after four children aged eight, five, four and 21 months, and was nominated by their family.
The contest was judged by the Professional Association of Nursery Nurses.
