According to some experts, when it comes to weight loss, the jury is still out about caffeine.
Ive seen studies that say coffee is good for dieting, and Ive seen equal science that says that coffee [disturbs] your insulin [levels] you never want to do anything that messes up your insulin, says a clinical nutritionist Dr. Carol Forman Helerstein.
So what is the verdict? I think the caffeine in coffee when used in conjunction with a
healthy diet and exercise may aid weight loss to some extend, but keep in mind that it is a strong stimulant. Do not abuse it.

Speaking of caffeine, do not be surprised if you see that juice kiosk at your gym get replaced with a Starbucks. The
Journal of Pain reports that caffeine could cut the soreness people experience after a strenuous workout in half for women anyway.
Researchers discovered that drinking a cup of Joe an hour before a moderately strenuous workout is more effective at relieving the post-workout pain than Aleve, ibuprofen and aspirin, which are what most people grab for relief.
Caffeine has been known to increase alertness and endurance, and a 2003 University of Georgia study found that it reduced thigh pain during cycling.
The researchers only used women who did not consume caffeine heavily, so they are not sure if the effects will cross over to men or hardcore coffee drinkers. [sources:
