Happy Wednesday!
In my continual quest to upgrade my menfolk, I endlessly search men's fashion resources so that you can one-up your style game. Today's let's discuss pocket squares, shall we?
A pocket square is the easiest to add a touch of flair to your look...without being too flashy...I know that some of you cant handle too much flair.....
The style, color, and fabric of your pocket square can distinguish you from the pack quite easily. An interesting style or pattern will instantly draw attention to you...just make sure you can handle it. Styles include the three point peak, the carrot fold, the puff and point, and the winged puff, just to name a few. The style you choose says much about you. Most men use one of the 3 styles below. Guess what each one says about you....
The pouty puff: the most dramatic and exuberant look. You are daring and bold...and not afraid to take chances. Just be sure that you are able to handle any extra attention that you mar receive as a result. Here's a great choice from
Ralph Lauren. I love the silk paisley print:
The pointy peak: this middle of the road look signifies that you want to be noticed, but not so much. A very moderate look that contrasts the style against the suit--you like to sit on the fence. You are very much a negotiator and are known to keep the calm in the midst of a storm. As long as the material is of a superb quality, i.e. silk, any type can achieve this subdued look.
The straight look: this is considered to be the chicest and classiest look of the three. It is reminiscent of old World style and is timeless. You are a cut above the rest, crave pure quality, and aspire to be considered as such.

If you are still in the Dark Ages and are square illiterate, come into the light and learn how to transform your look from slob to mob boss. Here are some DIY tips from Formal America:
1. FOLDED: this is a really easy way to wear a pocket square. All you have to do to prepare the pocket square is to fold it into quarters and insert it into your tux's pocket. Make sure the fold is lined up parallel with the top of the tux pocket.
2. POOFY: For lack of a better term, we call this method 'poofy.' To prepare your pocket square, lay it down flat on a table. Now, grab it by the middle and let the fabric bunch up slightly in your hand. Insert the pocket square straight into your tux pocket with the corners down. Straighten and 'poof' the pocket square a bit. Make the pocket square fill the width of the tux's pocket.
3. CORNERS UP: As its name implies, the 'corners up' method of folding your pocket square allows the corners to peek out the top! Again, place the pocket square flat on a table and pick it up by the middle. However, this time, insert the 'bunched up material' down into your pocket first. The corners of your pocket square should stick out the top of the pocket.
