All sort of Coco Chanel film shenanigans have surfaced. There aren't that many fashion designers that have the commercial draw for the big biopic film production but Chanel definitely qualifies with
three possible film projects in the making. Anne Fontaine has enticed
Audrey Tautou to play a young Coco Chanel in a film about her early life before the fame.

Then we have a film based on the book
'Coco & Igor' (recommended if you want to immerse a little in fashion frippery - a light read), about the composer
Igor Stravinsky and Coco Chanel's very brief romance. Directed by
William Friedkin (director of The Excorcist) the film will be played by
Marina Hands, not someone I've heard of before but was apparently very good in Lady Chatterley. I think these pictures show a fair amount of resemblance too.

Finally, a third screenplay about Chanel is in the process of being written by well-known screenplay writer
Daniele Thompson.
All three sound interesting in different ways but I'm mostly pleased that the
'Demi Moore playing Chanel' rumours that were going around last year have been quashed.
