The issue of People Magazine's on sale in the US today has their annual "Best Dressed List". As usual I do not agree with the list.
Beyonce is on the list as
The Showstopper. Yes she is a show stopper, but not in a good way. The best examples are her dresses at the
Golden Globes and the
DreamGirls premiere. Both bad in taste.
Cameron Diaz
. The Legs. Perfect. The
MTV Movie Awards Luella dress and her Shrek
Chanel dress showed off her asset.
Katie Holmes got
The Classic. Up until recently Katie Holmes' style has been too old for her and quite boring, but the
Azzedine Alaia dress she wore to the
Hairspray premiere was fabulous. Her style transformation has been credited to Victoria Beckham, but I think this is down to Katie and the changes in her life.
Penelope Cruz is the
The Continental. Mostly because of her Spanish roots and her love for European designers
Versace and
Chanel, worn at the
Oscars and
Golden Globes this year. Even Penelope off duty style is glamourous which is why she able to attract major contracts with
L'Oreal and
Mango.
Jessica Biel is
The All-American - I would have thought this would have gone to Reese Witherspoon. I don't agree with Biel being on any Best Dressed list as I think she has no sense of great style.
Drew Barrymore is
The Chameleon, as she can go from Cover Girl to Home Girl all in the same day. Whether it is a
Caroline Herrara dress or
J Brand Jeans, Drew always looks gorgeous.
Jennifer Lopez is perfectly picked as
The Glamour Girl. This girl loves glamour, from head to her perfectly manicured toes. She has curves and wears beautiful dresses to accentuate them.
Marchesa seems to be her favourite designer at the moment as she has worn them to the
Oscars and the
Golden Globes this year.
Resse Witherspoon is
The Sophisticate. This year has brought out the best in Reese. She has ditched the mumsy look and went for the spectacular when she arrived at the
Oscars in a
Nina Ricci gown. She also looks great in simple black ensembles on the streets of L.A.
Gwen Stefani is
The Trendsetter. Sticking to a strict palette of red lips, mostly white, black and trademark leopard, Gwen Stefani looks great in Couture dresses. She is also looks great when she is just hanging out and about.
Ali Larter is
The Newcomer. Perfect choice as Ali has barely put a foot wrong this year. Whether she's in
Calvin Klein or mixing
Prada with the
Gap while showing off her killer legs, you'd never know she wasn't an old pro at looking good.
