Isolated pockets of local fashion no longer happen in isolation. They're part of a zeitgeist that spawns similar pockets in other cities. As a fashion blogger, I understand this. I enjoy taking part in the international exchange of fashion made possible by the internet. But does everything I love have to turn into a "trend"? It seems a fashion movement can exist only momentarily before being dissected and translated (read: ruined)! My long-standing T.Rex addiction plus a plethora of young men in my city who tend to dress a bit Ziggy Stardust means I've been loving the Glam Rock look for a while now. At one point I even looked forward to attending a "Glam Con" (a music convention in a series that started with Grunge Con) where local bands would play Glam covers and everyone in attendance would dress, well, Glam. Now, along comes men.style.com (via

suggestions and photos - even if a $150 band t strikes me as too over the top - look pretty good. Then there's this.
Nothing helps extend a big night like a strong cup of high-quality Colombian Charlie, uh, Joe. Which is why this gold coffee stirrer, with its cheeky appropriation of a familiar logo, is such an essential.Ju$t Another Rich Kid & Tobias Wong coke spoon, $295, available at www.citizen-citizen.com
