Its lunchtime, and you open up your brown paper bag to find yet another ham and cheese on white bread. Zzzz… Boring! If you want a sandwich that youll actually remember, stroll on down to Jerrys.
Opened in 2002, Jerrys isnt just any sandwich shop. Along with a homemade collection of soups, side salads, and mac and cheese, Jerrys serves up 100 named regular and grilled sandwiches. And if for some strange reason you cant find one among those that you like, you can choose from nine types of bread (ciabatta, focaccia, pretzel rolls!), over 25 fillings (roast chicken, smoked salmon, grilled asparagus, fried eggplant…), 11 cheeses, and over 25 condiments to build your own. Finish it all off with something from their assortment of cold sodas, juices, homemade lemonade, or Intelligentsia coffee.
Whether its dine-in or Jerry-out, youll be feeling very merry.
P.S. Jerrys opened a Wicker Park location over the summer, but do yourself a favor and go to the original on Madison Street. Despite months of working the kinks out, visitors of the Division St restaurant are still reporting slow service and a less-than-friendly wait staff.
