Its the middle of winter, and that has many of us dreaming of spring and warmer temperatures. Which, of course, means frozen treats!
Scooters offers some of the citys best frozen custard, coming in basic flavors (like chocolate and vanilla) as well as a unique flavor of the day ranging anywhere from strawberry swirl to Belmont Avenue (a.k.a. Rocky Road). This dessert really cant be beat, made fresh daily with less air and ice than plain ol ice cream.
The menu also carries sundaes, Italian ices, cookie custard sandwiches, and the popular Concretesloads of frozen custard combined with candy or flavorings like caramel, Butterfingers, coffee, hot fudge, or raspberry syrup. Cant decide on just one flavor? Take a few of them home in pre-packed pints and quarts. And if you must justify your dessert with an actual meal before it, Scooters even offers hot dogs the way theyre meant to be served: Chicago-style!
With treats like these, Im definitely looking forward to warmer months. Scooters wont be open again until March 7, 2008. *sigh*
