One of the most exquisite spots to eat in Chicago is Tru in the Streeterville neighborhood. This stylish example of haute cuisine features a progressive French menu. Items on the tasting menu in the past have included various dishes of white truffles ($250), rare vintage Clos des Goisses ($900 by the bottle), Montrachet wine ($2400), Barolo red wine ($800), and Château d⿿Yquem ($1200).
Adobo Grill in Chicago⿿s Old Town neighborhood is the spot for upscale Mexican fare. And at $50, this is also where you can find the most expensive margarita in the city. The ⿿Maria Felix⿿ Margarita, named after a famous actress in Mexico, includes a shot from a $300 bottle of Herradura Selección Suprema, a bit of 150-year-old Grand Marnier, freshly-squeezed lime juice, and a sea-salt rim⿿all prepared tableside.
So if you have a few extra dollars to spend, treat yourself to a decadent cocktail. Just be sure to bring me along too.
