"The Insider" has your box office scoop!

'Horton Hears a Who!' was tops in theaters for a second week over the Easter holiday weekend, according to preliminary studio estimates.

JIM CARREY, in his second DR. SEUSS film (he also starred in 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas') plays Horton the elephant, who hears voices coming from a speck of dust. Horton soon discovers, to his amazement, that a planet containing a village called "Who-ville" is located in the infinitesimal grain of dust and it's up to him to protect the people who live there. STEVE CARELL plays the Mayor of Who-ville in the animated film, while DANE COOK, SETH ROGEN, CAROL BURNETT, JAIME PRESSLY, ISLA FISHER, JONAH HILL ('Superbad'), WILL ARNETT ("Arrested Development") and AMY POEHLER ("Saturday Night Live") also provide voices.

TYLER PERRY again demonstrated his box office clout as his 'Meet the Browns' debuted in a solid second place with $20 million. Oscar nominee ANGELA BASSETT stars in the family dramedy as a single mom who, having fallen on hard times, travels with her children to the funeral of the father she never met. Perry appears as his classic character, Madea, in addition to the role of Uncle Joe, while DAVID MANN, SOFIA VERGARA and RICK FOX also co-star.
